It’s been more than a year since I last posted a link collection (stuff that I have found interesting enough to post on Facebook). And apparently I don’t find a lot of things interesting enough. Or possibly I don’t want to suffocate people with photography related links. Yeah, that’s probably it.
Photo collections:
- 20 photos of sports in strange places – Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall and basketball on ice, to name two.
- Swimming pool on the 24th floor – I seriously doubt I would dare try it.
- Different sports photographed like beach volleyball – This does convey an interesting point, indeed.
- Echoes of war – Recent photos merged with photos from WWII.
- Falling bear – I don’t know why, but I can’t help laughing when I see that photo.
- Top 50 ‘Pictures of the Day’ for 2011 – Some amazing shots in there.
- Lego inspired by movies – They’re Legos. And they have been inspired.
- National Geographic Photo Contest 2011 – I don’t believe it’s possible to dislike these photos.
- Still Life: Bent objects – Swashbuckling marshmallows over hot cocoa, among other things.
Interesting articles and news:
- April fools 2012 in the photo world – Now, who wouldn’t want to play Angry Birds on their 5d MkIII?
- The models for American Gothic – More paint than photo, but interesting nonetheless.
- H&M puts real model heads on fake bodies – This rendered me speechless for a few moments. Am I just being naïve?
- Government website erases cleavage – A Canadian MP’s cleavage was erased! From existence!
Videos:
- Fishing under ice – Divers creating some surreal underwater footage.
- School Portrait – The irritated school portrait photographer.
- How to lose $2400 in just 24 seconds – Watching this actually hurts.
- Creating artificial sunlight on an overcast day – Sometimes you just need some sun in your photos.
And one tutorial… sort of:
- Crop guidelines for portrait photography – A handy image to memorize. As the saying goes; learn the rules before you start breaking them.
